Gentlemen, who don’t remember Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? That cartoon marked our childhood. But have you ever wondered what would happen if these characters had grown up with us? They were probably our age and going through the same adult problems as us, like dealing with a wife, children, working, paying for the house, anyway, if they were like the rest of us.
Fortunately, the American television program Saturday Night Live answers that question for us and, through a small clip, shows us what the adult life of our favorite characters would be like, dealing with problems that go beyond the world of villains.
In the video, we can see that April O’Neil married Miguel Ángel and they are about to divorce, Donatello discovers that the tumor on his back is benign and Rafael tells Leonardo that Destructor died. It might seem like a boring life for these heroes, but it is the closest thing to current reality. We can also see them shopping, washing the car and getting tired when playing tennis. You know, things that happen with age.
The funny short appeared in last Saturday’s episode, which was not performed live from a studio as usual, because of the coronavirus. Instead, the show was filmed from different locations, and the special guest was Tom Hanks, while Coldplay’s Chris Martin made a musical number, each from their respective homes.
It was certainly something unusual in this type of program, but it was a pleasant surprise to know that despite being in quarantine, we can still have fun.
