The crown of Miss Universe 2019 already owns by Zozibini Tunzi. The 26-year-old model and activist surpassed 89 other competitors, thanks to her incredible beauty, intelligence, and attitude.

The contest was held at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, United States. Fortunately, the presenter announced the winner of the night without any mistake, and we could celebrate Tunzi being crowned.

Ally Brooke opened the event.

The singer performed Low Key and No Good. But what surprised and made the public cry was that she sang two of Selena Quintanilla’s most iconic songs: I could fall in love and Dreaming of you, during the catwalk of the evening dress.

Miss Brazil protested against violence.

On December 6, the preliminary Miss Universe competitions were held so that one by one, the candidates surprised the selection committee and could gain a place among the finalists. During the typical costume catwalk, the representative of Brazil, Júlia Horta, took a moment to send a strong message in favor of the feminist struggle: “Stop violence against women.”

Steve Harvey was wrong again.

But not with the magnitude of the mistake made in 2015 when he gave the wrong name of the winner. This time the presenter said that Miss Philippines had won the National Costume Contest, but later they clarified that it was actually Miss Malaysia.

Miss Puerto Rico

Madison Anderson took second place and will be the one to replace Tunzi in case she is unable to carry out her responsibilities as queen.

“Being on the Miss Universe stage is not just a dream. I think I found my mission. It is a representation of dedication, resistance and perseverance. I think my mission is to show the world that magic happens when we refuse to give up because the universe always listens to a stubborn heart.”

Mexico won third place

Sofía Aragón dazzled with a spectacular red dress of rhinestones that left everyone speechless. She was one of the third finalist.

“If you don’t use your beauty for the mission of your life, it’s just an empty ornament.”

Tunzi’s message was the one that gave her the crown.

When asked: “What is the most important thing we should teach girls today?”, She had the most interesting answer of all.

“I think the most important thing we should teach girls today is leadership. It is something that has been lacking in girls and women for a long time. Not because we don’t want to, but because what society has already described to women as they should be. I believe that we are the most powerful beings in the world and that we should be given all the opportunities. That is what we should teach these young women to occupy space. Nothing more important than taking up space in society and consolidating ourselves.”

“I grew up in a world where a woman who looks like me with my skin and hair type was never considered beautiful. It ends today! I want the children to see the reflection of their faces in mine.”

Catriona Gray handed over the crown.

Miss Philippines 2019 placed the crown on the new queen, ending a spectacular night full of beauty and intelligence.
